Ankle Injury Set Back!

Stupidly I went over on my ankle on 8th February.  Quite badly it turned out.  Very badly bruised foot (even my toes were blue) and ankle.  It is now 12 days later and the pain is still there although the swelling and the bruising has subsided.

Note to self, I am not 20 anymore.

Anyway training regime has taken a back seat as the healing takes place.  Hoping that this weekend I can resume the hikes but probably more likely the following weekend 3rd/4th March.

It is worrying when there is only 60 days to go until the walk.  Have added a Facebook page which I will publish later next week as the fundraising kicks in.  I need to get some T-shirts printed for my challenge as well, one for Keeley to design I think.

Train tickets to be purchased (end of February when the cheaper seats are released).  I am arriving into St Bees on a Sunday evening which means the station is closed so need to get a taxi from Whitehaven.

Will be keeping an avid eye on the weather forecasts over the next few months, but statistically May is the driest month in the Lakes.

PS For keeleys birthday in April we are spending a few days in Pooley bridge so will be able to scout Patterdale and surrounding mountains in readiness.

  1. Ankle update 22/2/17
Still extremely sore and ligaments are swelling up after any form of walking. Need to keep resting and ice packs on regularly. Cancelled Golf this weekend so must be bad.
