18 days to go

Updates:

Back from business trip to Japan so now all focus is on last minute prep.  Due to injury and being out of the country my training has not gone to plan.

With this in mind I have tried to get out whenever possible.  Saturday in Japan I walked 22000 steps and yesterday I did a 6.5 mile hike Hitchin to Pirton and back.  Will be looking to get a few 10 milers in before I set off, but ideally wanted to rest the final week before I go to ensure no injuries.

Just giving page is up to £250 now, aiming for £500 if I can.

Brits has changed his attendance on the walk from 2 days to the short 1 day Reeth to Richmond due to his failing health and chopper will be joining me on the 43 mile weekend section (the most challenging in miles, section).

A big mention for David Matson who is kindly driving me up to St Bees on Sunday 30th April due to Train issues that day (mainly no trains!!).  It should be interesting as the Spurs v Arsenal NL Derby is schedule for that afternoon as well…

One final thought, being away from the family will be a big issue for me (as it was in Japan) but the ability to Skype and make phone calls in the same time zone will help a lot.

I am very nervous and don’t underestimate the challenge I am undertaking, I just hope the weather is kind.

till next time
