Day 7 – Reeth
Kirkby Stephen to Reeth is a long way, most people stop off at Keld.
Was a struggle after the long walk to Shap the day before, so took to road to Keld then the low route through the lovely swaledale valley.
Nothing really to report apart from the lovely valley walk which flows through from keld to reeth and beyond. Stopped off for a pint at halfway and then walked further on down the Valley until the route took me up a few hundred metres across the moor and the down to join the River Swale again as the walk into reeth continued.
Walked up to the Buck Inn where I was staying only upon entering to find Dek sat at a table with a pint talking to the Father and Son team (80 and 50) who are doing the coast to coast over many years ( a few days a year). I hadn’t seen Dek since we walked over loft Beck and down into Borrowdale. So I checked in and had a coupel of pints before showering .
I then came back down and updated the blog, although wifi was pretty awful and couldn’t upload anything I had steak and chips and waited for Copey and Brits who were joining me.
Dek joined me later and then the boys turned up, so there were a few beers had and my usual 9pm turned into 11pm.
I wasn’t too upset as we only had 11 miles the next day on the easiest stage of the whole walk (true Brits style).
